Peacock Cichlids have babys woot! (uhm help?)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Feed them a little bit a few times a day,If they wont go for flakes try the bbs.Too bad you dont have a sponge filter youngsters love to graze on them.Do partial waterchanges at least daily.
This is general cichlid info, ive never had peacocks, just lots of others.Good luck

i usually keep my africans in a 10gl, if i already have fry in the tank and get newborn that still have some egg sac left i'll put them in a net breeder. a sponge filter is definately ideal for them too. have at least one in all my tanks. i feed my crushed growth flake i got from jehmco once their egg sacs are gone till they are about 1.5-2" then gradually switch to what they would eat in the wild. a lil betta tank isn't going to do them any good for the long road, definately think about getting them at least a 10gl to grow up(the bigger the better).

just try boiled egg york. it work well. but the tank get dirty soon. make the boiled egg york in to a pulp and feed them. worked with the flowerhorns. i think they are too small for brine-shrim.
anyway good job. Congrates..

If you don't have a filter you might want to change the water after each feeding. Remember, you don't have the good bacteria to keep the ammonia from killing them and the water volume is pretty low.

I feed mine New Life Spectrum: Growth. When I think they are old enough, I feed them frozen brine shrimp. Crushed flake should also work.

well they actually wont eat anything but the brine shrimp, they wipe the brine shrimp I give them out like theres no tomorrow - they are pigs! I change the water twice a day and so far so good =)
