are they nocturnal??? i have had mine about 3 months now and i never see them eat, i do see them but never see them eat. i know they eat cause they are growing quite nicely and are plump but are they nocturnal???

thats how mine was
only came out at night
till i started starving them then he came out 24/7

well i dont want to starve them theystill come out during the day and chill its just i have never seen them eat

mine was like that as well. I stuck cubes of bloodworms in there to eat he never ate then I woke up in the middle of the night and saw him munchin down if they are gettin chunk tho should be alright?

My tire track eel really eats and shows up during the day.:headbang2

when I've had nocturnals, turn light off, feed and then have a dim lamp behind you so you can just about see them without disturbing them with the light, worked for me.

A red light works great at night! You can see them, and it doesn't bother them. They don't like harsh lighting. If you give them alot of places to hide they will actually come out more if the lighting isn't too bright. They, like a lot of other fish, feel more comfortable if they feel secure. Security = hiding places.

my father-in-law has both and the peacock eel came out and ate during the day but the tire track came out at night

had 3 peacocks for over 2 years, first year never saw them eat. but i had them eating out of my hand after that
