Watch your specie, at least one gets to 48", they aren't agressive but at that size can eat an 8" fish

Nice eels...I also have an eel, it's still tiny, like 3" or so. It looks like what you have described as the "peacock eel"...nobody has been able to identofy it for me (the pet store labeled it "Indian Eel", but i can't find any information on those on the web. When I have enough posts here i can show you a picture, in the time being, try this link if you want to give me a hand...

Can you identofy me??

Thanks!

I got the picture you sent and from what I could see I believe it to be a blonde peacock eel. Just a color morph of the Peacock. It might be a tire track though..not the black ones though.

He doesn't bite really as much as he will ram and chase them away. Don't get me wrong, theyr'e not agressive but they WILL hold their ground especially at those sizes. Smaller ones will dive for cover into the sand or gravel. they are so fast at that that they look to just dissapear! really cool. I love these fish did I mension that?...LOL

Now that I got a better look at it I believe it to be a Tire~track eel...What do you guys/gals think?

by the look of that last pic id say Mastacembelus circumcinctus. :)

One needs alot of patients to train an eel. They are a wonderful companion. They are not that difficult to raise however it is a bit tricky to train them, you must use "positive reinforcement" using food AKA: Frozen bloodworms.
