The best mode is usually with flash, manual, leaning towards the neg exposure. And if you can play with your shutter speed do.

And malawi haps, did you see Erick's show tank and the OB in that one? I am thinking about buying it...

looking forward to seeing it..:D

All is good I got 3 rubbernose plecs today they are kinda small but really fast the fish did not seem to even notice them .Getting some algea and or diatom bloom at the moment.

Well if you haven't yet invest in a UV filter. It really does help with a lot of things. (Not to mention kills algea blooms.) But it also killed off something that was going on in my tank for a few months.

Also (though I assume you are doing it) make sure you are going crazy on those water changes. Don't want to be seeing a mini cycle going on (which is likely happening if you have the bloom going).

I did the rubber lips too. Never saw them, and then 1 day I found him dead. I have also used bristle nose. I want to get albinos but I keep on not being willing to pay the money when I see them for auction, or they are in much too large packs so I don't want say 12 plecos...

Yea I just finished a w/c and will be getting a uv this week! I tried to get a bristle nose but no one had them so I settled for 3 rubberlips.they had albino chocolates their but I did not think they would fair as well as the rubberlips?

I don't know, haven't had any experience with the chocolates, but in general albino does scream food so you likely made a good decision.

Well here is a bad update that turned good.Woke up this morning and one of the twin tube lights was not on ( this is the 2nd one in 2 months) so all of my fish were one one side of the tank trying to figure out why it was still night on the other side of the tank??? So after work I go to my trusty lfs and the ouner was their we went in to the back of the store and he has a 150 gallon rubber maid tub full of used equiptment and to my supride their were two 4 65 watt pc with lunar lights 48" light systems (thats 260 watts per light!!). So he plugs them in and everything works good and he says "I dont know how old they are but I can sell them to you for 100$ each if you want them:eek: I loaded them in my truck needless to say :D one of them is a jbj and one of them is a coralife. Now I need to go to the store and get another powerstrip to get all 6 plugs going to simulate day and night cycles and still have my 29 gall fuge on as well but what a diffrence these make .:headbang2

My lights shut off at 9 and I am a little embarassed of the tank at the moment with the algea growth .I promise I will take some tomorrow when I get off work and have a chance to clean the glass.

Trust me when I say I doubt you can surprise us with a bad looking tank...

Here is one of mine that I was forced to move because of the direct sunlight. (There was only 4 fish in the 50 gallon too.)

(UV filter cleared it up in 1 day, but I didn't want to keep it on since an UV filter is an ugly centerpiece.)

This is what it should of looked like...
