got about 17 in a 55g right now, everyone would swarm at the pellets but find out its only pellets and not tasty live or frozen food so half of the swarm will leave to the other side of the tanks once they spit pellet out. only about 6 out of the 17 will eat them (some dominant males wont eat it and some sub males will eat them so not really about aggression) The finickiest eater is male that ive had for 4 wks now ive fed them blood worms twice once at 2 wks and just 2 days ago and every one will eat those in seconds. However, poor pellets fall to the ground and the 6 that will eat them are starting to look a bit chubby all around (not bloat like) whats your strategy to get them to eat

What kind of food are you using? I tried a few different foods before I ended up getting NLS. All of my fish LOVE New Life Spectrum food, but when I tried other foods only some of the fish liked it.

yea im using hbh sinking i was planning on getting NLS where would u suggest i buy it at? Also do you think mine will like it more, they have a more defined taste for live things like the home bred guppies ive fed them those last a nanosecond. It was around the time i fed the guppy that they started to swarm the pellets but lately theyve been disappointed

I tried HBH and my fish didnt like it at all (I have haps and peacock by the way). I have been buying NLS from Mike, one of the moderators here, this is his site http://www.freewebs.com/mikedunagan/apps/webstore/

If you dont want to wait for shipping you could try calling around to fish stores in your area, none of the big chains carry it though.

I have never fed mine live food, they have got frozed bloodworms before and they still love the food after those. If you try NLS and they dont all take to it right away you can not feed them for 2-3 days and then try.

13 are 3-4", 2 of them are 3" exactly, 2 are 6"
aragonite with rocks its buffered by the aragonite to pH of 8.0, 10gh and i think 12kh?
been cycled with ammonia for 1 month had 5 originally then added 7 then added 5 in a 55 gallon. theyve been together for a week never had any mini cycles. Used API master test 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 10 nitrates (20% wc each week)

Feeding schedule was twice a day 1-2 minutes making sure its not accumulating on the bottom, so those that ive had for 3 weeks that havent been eating havent eaten much in 3 weeks. I felt bad for my electric blue hap (had him since the start) that i fed them blood worms 2 wks ago and not much at that, his stomach looked thin he ate about 8 pieces (not 8 cubes). At that time there was 12 in there and the electric blue kind of dominated the feeding frenzy. He is the 3rd most dominant in the tank. The others who arent eating it have the same kind of story just swimming around not being chased. Those that do get chased seem to have more of an appetite lol and look properly fed.

I did notice that at first they were shy and never swarmed at pellets but once i had all 17 of them and fed them blood worms that one time (to the entire 17) they would swarm like crazy when i got near and more so once food entered water but would disappear as quickly once it was found out it was pellets.

also by not taking the NLS i meant those that already didnt eat pellets and all those who ate the HBH ate the NLS
