After my silver arowana incident, I`ve been looking to get an entry lvl asian arowana. So today i got a call from a lfs that he had gotten 1 home for me :)
Well its aclimating now, and I`m a happy camper.
I`m thinking pearlscale is just another common name for a green or ?

I`ll post some pics later for you all

i've heard leichardti be called pearlscale, so I don't know. Hope you got a green

I`m beggning to think its a jar too, becouse of the egg spots on anal and dorsal fin
Sorry for the crappy setup, i justed moved house so my main tank is not up and running yet

sorry man, but that isn't an asian aro. It's a jar. How much did you pay? Go return it if it was too much!

I agree 110%. It's a jar. If he claim that it's a asia and you're paying alot for it, it's definately a con job.

I went to him with the latin name, for asian aro`s and told him i was looking for an entry lvl asian arowana, and i said that was probely a green.
Paid 450kr, wich is around 75 US dollars... to much ? Silvers go for 15-20 dollar or 150-250 kr...
Gonna have word with the lfs anyway :(

Edit : When i picked it up he was 100% sure it was an asian, just not sure on wich color variant

that's a little high for US standards. One sure-fire way to tell asian aros from others is that they have 5 rows of large scales on the sides. Jars have a lot more, smaller scales

If he tell you that it's an asia aro. Then he dunno what he's selling at all. Sometime it's not the money spend, but it's the bad encounter with this kinda issue that damn the whole mood of fish keeping.
