Pearlscale arowana ? (asian)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yeah i can see now, headshape, the scales... Gonna see if i can some of the money back, or he will get the fish back.

If i keep the fish above, would i be able to keep a gold saum and JD in with him, or will that be certain death for the cichlids ?

if your happy with it then who cares what it is

read up the stickies. Jars tend to become vicious assassins once they start maturing (8")

one more thing, the jars is best to raise alone
you don't wanna an asian killed by a jar some months after they're together.
but, it's a really nice jar anyway, congrats

I went to him with the latin name, for asian aro`s and told him i was looking for an entry lvl asian arowana, and i said that was probely a green.
Paid 450kr, wich is around 75 US dollars... to much ? Silvers go for 15-20 dollar or 150-250 kr...
Gonna have word with the lfs anyway :(

Edit : When i picked it up he was 100% sure it was an asian, just not sure on wich color variant
75 US may be a bit high for a baby jardini for US standards, but you definitely aren't paying an asian aro price either. i don't believe you can get a green asian for just 75 US, at least not outside southeast asia. as for how much they go for in asia, i don't really know, but i highly doubt its that low (anyone please correct me if i'm wrong).

^ True, but it's worth a shot asking for some money back since he was lied to, at least imo.

we call jardi's "pearl arowanas" here too

Actually it's jardini which are called pearl arowana here. Becos we got jar more easily than lei.

450 kr.. I consider that fair.. I visited denmark last summer (I will be going back this summer, GREAT country) here I get a jar about 10 cm for 600 sek and that would be about 450 dkr.
fish tend to be alot more expensive over here in the north.. and never anything over 15 cm..

that's a little high for US standards. One sure-fire way to tell asian aros from others is that they have 5 rows of large scales on the sides. Jars have a lot more, smaller scales
