I have to keep him busy when i feed the polypterus during the day or he'll get every last pellet. Even during lights out he'll follow them towards the pellets.

Yea I remember that one, the pearsei kept chasing the feeding tongs. That guy is a complete hog.
Seriously ? Yours doesnt get to the food ? This is annoying man. Ive been doing the nightime thing and he still tracks down the food. Even in the middle of the night after the lights have been out for hrs i'll quickly use my phone to see in the tank adter i drop the pellets in and hes doing what he does best. Damn fish doesnt sleep man
Maybe you need to feed more often and more food. Believe me they will get something. Also try feed flakes
