Pease Help Sex My Dovii Before I Go Crazy ***load warning***

I dunno man.. we still need a vent pic. It looks painfully a lot like my low genetic male at 5.5".. this is his pic.. Lets hope for a girl though ;)

My Dovii looked almost like yours and it turned out to be female. I kept purchasing Dovii from local fish stores hoping to get a male but kept getting females :irked:. I just ordered a male the other day. I should get him soon :D. Here are some pics of my female:popcorn:. She started out looking male, but once she got around 5 or 6 inches she started looking female. Pics are not very clear though.

Haha.. I think we've all done that. I went through 4 at the LFS and they all ended up being Females, then I finally got a male but he was an ugly male, so I ordered from Rapps.. :D
 
MUGFROG - just for a comparison this is my mates male that is from the same batch as mine. yeah, they are low genetic, but there can't be this big of a difference between males from the same fry batch could there??
 
That guy is definate male and to answer your question.Yes there can be a vast difference between siblings in looks and size though I am leaning more toward female with yours from the last pics(don't quote me)

Are you still getting the other male today?
I wonder if your mate would notice if you did the old switcharoo:naughty:

Yep, there can be a tremendous difference in genetics in the same batch.

I still think it's a girl, but really it could go either way. Get a pic of that vent :D
 
OMG.

you cannot believe how farked off i am right now.

this morning i took my 2 dovii's from my 670L and put them in a temp tank. then i took all my fish out of my 1000L tank. 2 oscars, 1 pike, 1 green severum and 10 various catfish, and put them all in a 670L tank. all are being sold so it just a temporary thing.

next i went down to the LFS that i had a 5.5" male dovii on hold. when i got there, it wasn't there. i asked "excuse me but where the fark is my dovii". they said that it accidentally got sold this morning.

so pissed off. there was another *fingers double crossed* male there around 4". it was for sale for $50 so i told em i wanted it for $35. and they gave it to me for that. i've put all 3 in my 1000L.

also my venting photo came out crap and blurry so all in all i'd have to say i've really had a ****house day.
