IN FISH PARADISE
can the peat moss be a good substrate for most of snakes ..

as it can be a good conditioner for moisture ?

peat moss holds water fantastically

it is the equivalent to eco earth, just not as expensive

Eco Earth is more coconut hull based, I find straight peat moss to be quite messy. I use the Coconut hull chunks, which hold moisture, but isn't as messy as any of the peat/coconut hull based commercial substrates.

the main problem is that here in my country we don't have all those choices from the substrates

so i am searching for something available in nature form and easy to get from around

like peat moss ..

i know that sand is not a good choice for all snakes so as the gravel

and the newspaper isn't the good choice for a decorated wooden enclosure that is the point

that is a good one too

i though about it but isn't it rough on the snake skin ?

no, it wont hurt them at all. I keep most of my snakes on cypress mulch and play sand mixed together. I also use peat moss in the hide spots to keep the humidity in.

that is a very col idea and i ll do it

thanks alot snakeguy101
