Well, you can't parent everyone...You keep telling your son not to get one, and the second he gets on his own, what does he do? Buys a motorcycle. Can you see how the same thing might apply to someone thinking about buying snake? Your solution does nothing to prevent anything. Do you go around telling people not to buy motorcycles too?

Responsible people can own reptiles just as responsible people can own motorcycles. Irresponsible people kill reptiles just as fast as irresponsible people kill themselves on motorcycles. I think that's the only point that you are missing...

what is in the old one that has anything to do with peta and captive bred vs farm bred and ethics of reptile keeping? If you can find it I will move that too... it all stays in the same order so...

also how is out of context. All of your and elevatethis posts are in here, except for two where you both answered the OP's question, the rest was this offtopic discussion, which is fine, just put it in a different thread. If you want to back out of what you said fine, but this is the exact discussion as it happened. Anyway pm if problem.

On the breeders thing though... I think it is a good thing that captive bred is around... there will always be a demand for the pets, so the smallest amount of impact given to their wildcaught counterparts the better... they need all the help they can get.
