That is the best color I have seen in a male Pellegrini,is it possible that the black substrate is helping bring it out with this particular fish?

I am curious what he would look like in a tank with the same dacor & lighting,but with,let's say-an off white pool filter sand??

Actually here he is on tan sand before i moved him,almost the same seems the color of the substrate doesnt affect him that much,he has been getting better and better as he gets larger and matures.

update,after two unsucessful atempts my female finally carried the eggs to full term ,teleased the fry this morning(looks lke a few dozen)now i have to see if the fry are as easy to raise as other fry i have kept,will post pics as soon as she lets me(when i get close she scopes the fry up in her mouth). I will keep you posted
 
wow ! she is fast,cant get a pic she scopes them up to fast(have to devise a plan to get the pics)
