I had my aro for about a year now since when i first got him him at 4inches. Its 10 inches now

I literally attempted to pellet train him 3 times already with failures in the past. Eat time its like 1-3 weeks starvation.

How the hell all of sudden three days ago, he just began to take pellets😧
Most of my daily feedings, i throw in pellets for my other fishes and superworms/shrimp for him. He would not even look at pellets.

Last week i had a Velvet outbreak in tank in with 6 casualties. Treated with coppersafe by mardel. He is housed with all other fish that takes pellets but he pays no mind to pellets

Although he does take pellets, he doesnt go crazy for them like he does with superworms and shrimp. He eats it slow one by one. Im going to only feed him pellets until he goes crazy for them and then feed sw and shrimp as weekly treats only

What kind of aro?

I always read about people having trouble breaking their aros. Granted I've only ever world with blacks and silvers, but I've never had trouble getting them on pellets, always within three days of going in the new tank.

See? It did not die.
From now on, only pellets. No treats at all. Feed him for the next couple of weeks 3 times per week.

Let it be hungry for pellets.

U have a jardini. He is in a 120g Yes, its been always hikari carni pellets. I mean, it never took pellets in his whole life till now. Im just glad.

At this point. It would slowly take about 3-4 hikari pellets one by one and then it spits out the rest.

This is my second round. I will try again tonight. Can i say its officially pellet trained?

You can say that it recognizes pellets as food.

Do not destroy that and offer treats, she will revert because pellets are not estbalhished yet.

Feed sparingly. Let her be real hungry.

So after two days of eating pellets. I starved it for one day hoping it would be more hungry, it just completely not want to eat pellets. WTF. Spits everyone of them out. Sigh
