Pellet trained Mystery

Ive never had trouble with getting silvers onto pellets, but one of my blacks had to be starved for almost a month before I tried a different method. I got tired of starving it and decided to toss cut up market shrimp one day. I turned around and all the pieces were gone. Then I started stuffing carnisticks into the small pieces of shrimp, increasing the ratio day by day. Eventually it just ate carnisticks, the other two blacks from the same batch took the pellets within a few days, this one was just a stubborn pita.

Even i follow the stuffing method
Still my aro doesnt eat pellets.
I dont want to starve it yet as koji advised at the a young size continous starving can stunt it..
My aro is only 6" i plan on starving him at 8"-10"

how big is the tank? should be over a foot by now..

Second that! I've had mine for about 8 months only and he's atleast 24" long and growing. My aquarium is 430 gal. His diet include hikari jumbo sticks, hikari gold lrge pellets, market shrimp, and whole smelt. Thinking about adding algae pellets to his diet. Mix that with the jumbo sticks.

My Xbox gamer tag: xXclusive808x. Run & gun baby!

All my aros took pellets pretty much the first day even when on feeders before hope you get it man

i have a jar to he wont even look at them lol kinda gave up mine is feed frozen tilapea but all my fish eat it so it in kinda nice the only one that is not on it yet is my rtcxtsn he is on massivor damn fish wont grow lol had him almost a year know and is only 8 inches

the mystery continues.

after 3 days of initially taking pellets.. i starved it for 1 day & it just completely stopped eating pellets.. i had to switch back to superworms.

now its been eating pellets everyday for the past 5 days. but it slowly eats it one by one. I hate the fact that my greedy datnoids will eat all of it before my jardini gets to it.

I got this jardini a year ago. it was only 3inches.. now its 9-10 inches. I know it should be like at 15+ inches.. but my mistake i guess was attempting to pellet train it numerous times with starvation method and failed... now that its kinda like pellet trained, im going to power feed it once it goes crazy for the pellets.

I just pellets trained my aro now too. Just started eating it other day out of nowhere. Problem is, it's like getting a kid to eat his vegetables.

Takes the pellet very very slow & doesn't hit it hard like sw or shrimp. My datnoids will eat it all so I have to dump in more pellets to get it to eat.

How can I make him go crazy for it ? Lol

Had the same experience with my silver aro before, taking a bite and spitting out is a good sign that your aro will break soon (like some people said from the previous thread way way before) just don't give him live foods and let him eat the pellets. Your other fish that take pellets can be teacher fish as well. You still must not neglect getting the uneaten pellets though after several minutes. Good luck :D

Mine eats it regularly now but it doesnt go crazy for it. Hopefully soon!

Im going to be saving $ now. Keeps my wife happy with no live superworms/mealworms in my house. Or even taking time to defrost shrimp for him.
