when pellet training datnoids how long did it take for them to break using the starving technique

any tips for pellet training besides starving? i have 3. only one is pellet trained. the other two are dumb as all hell... they eat frozen brine shrimp and bloodworms. tried frozen krill, but they just stare at it... they share a 60g tank with some other fish. should i put them in a smaller tank?

sorry for the hi-jack.

how big are they? when mine were small I used tiger barbs as dithers. if they are eating bloodworms mix crushed pellets in w/ em.

i wouldn't even think of starving before they reach a size of 3 inch or larger you could seriously stunt or hurt the fish as they can be very stubborn and may not eat for weeks maybe even months at which time they become easy pray and are likely to contract disease

my advise is have a selection of foods ready for them and if they start getting to thin just cave and give them a good meal then start over. I have found the best way is to run warmer water (above 80) to get their metabolism up and mix it in slowly. feed pellet first every day, feeding live every other day and decreasing the live food by adding a day between live feeds every couple of weeks, they will start taking pellet eventually and its less of a shock then just completely waiting till they eat just the pellet. its best to give your fish options and a variety of foods not just pellet or live and/or freeze dried

the two that i want to get onto pellets are 2-3". i soak the frozen food with sinking pellets so the scents mix. should i put them in a more confined space so they don't search for food as much?

Mine are 4-5 inches and fat they were eating dried shrimp they are now taking pellets in and spitting it out so hopefully they break soon
