Pellets vs. Fresh foods

that sound like the 13oz bag for 30 bucks..... look on ebay or thatfishplace.com 2.2 is about 50 and about 20 for the same bag you pay 30 for.......

hikari pellets are very expensive from what i see. Shrimp is 8$ for 2 lb's here. But i want to feed pellets too. Surely there is a place to buy hikari in bulk.

so if you feed 2 lbs a week in shrimp would you feed 2 lbs of hikari a week too ?

refer to my other post... i didnt fatten there bellies with pellets like i did shrimps and smelts..... my old female would eat 30-40 pellets a night and still eat 2-3 pieces of shrimp... i add pellets for the nutritional balance

thatfishplace is lil over a hour from me and 18 a bag and 48 for 2.2 pound bag.... thanks for the link though

i found there is always better deal on the smaller package version.

on my 400gal i feed like 80% hikari cichlid gold to all my fish. i mix hikari cichlid gold and hikari cichlid staple in a big bucket and feed 4 handfull's per feeding 3 times a day.

then i feed 1 large feeding of shrimp every other weekend.

once a month i toss in 10drs worth of large feeders (about 75)

on my 150, pretty much the same. mixed pellets in a bucket, fed 3 times a day but in smaller quantaties then my 400, shrimp every other weekend, feeders once a month.

yah just the hikari large pellets. i get them at petsmart using the print out, 3.80 per bag of staple and like 5.20 or less per bag of cichlid gold.

look on ebay and get it in 2.2 pound bags

2.2lb bags on ebay is 50dlrs

2.2lbs of hikari fish food is only 4 bags of hikari cichlid which i get regulary for 22 dlrs

so 2.2lbs of hikari fish food for 22 dlrs

vs ebay which is 50dlrs for 2.2lbs

i usually buy 8 bags when i go, 4 bags of cichlid gold for 20.80+ tax, then 4 bags of cichlid staple for 15.20+tax, so 36dlrs plus tax and i get 4.4 pounds.

still less then the price of 2.2lb bags on ebay lol
