What pellets have you guys had the best luck getting your Aros on? My 18" Silver readily eats shrimp, scallops, Silversides, Smelt, and FD Krill...she even eats shredded carrots, but will rarely actually eat a pellet. She will grab a mouthful, then spit them out. I have heard that Hikari works well with Aros, but havent tried it yet. Any input would be great!

Thanks,

Hikari has yet to fail me:D

Sweet! I'll pick some up this friday and see how that goes. Do you use the Food Sticks (with the Arowana on the bag)?

hikari

Do you guys think the Hikari sticks will actually make a difference? I have tried Hikari cichlid gold, Omega one, and NLS with little success. I'll give the food sticks a try and hope for the best though.

If your aro will mouth the pellets then you can start the starvation process. It will eventually eat the pellets. Be patient, it took 21 days for mine to accept the food. I used New Life Spectrum but to each his own.The thing I like about NLS is that their is a pellet for every fish own. My RTG aro eats 7mm, my motoro ray eats the wafers, and my rotkeil sev eats the 3mm sinking. I also stuff pieces of prawn with 2mm for my gold xb aro and my motoro pup. Good luck!

I stuff shrimp with NLS pellets now, but am getting tired of it. I also know I could use the starvation method, but I like to avoid that when possible. Besides...If I starve her then she will make it incredibly hard to clean the tank and feed the other fish.

You can try the Hikari food sticks- they didn't work for me but you might get lucky. I am just as frustrated as you right now. I've been stuffing prawns for over a month. I even decided I'd try the Hikari just because I wanted it to eat pellets and once it'll eat one pellet its easy to convert to your brand of choice but that was a failed experiment. Mine wouldn't even mouth the Hikari when fed exclusively for 4 days.
