Pelvicachromis pulcher- a good first dwarf cichlid

The red on his flanks and cheeks is what threw me off. I've never had males show it that brightly, even when spawning. I know for a while there was a "red" variety of krib being sold where the males showed a lot of red in the cheek and body, so I was just curious if this was that variety.

But you're right, in a dark tank with tannins in the water it may just be brighter looking in contrast. Either way, he's a really pretty fish. Are you selling the fry?

yea, if they survive. The pair is in a 75g tank, lots of plants and wood with only hypoptopoma gulare so there is a good chance a lot will survive. They sure have some growing to do first, lol. I took out the tannins with photoshop and this is what the fish looks like. To me, still looksl ike a typical krib (a nice mature one, mind you, but nothign "fancy").
