2 maximum...one on either side of the center brace.

Please show me a 350gph canister for the same price as a Penguin 350...

Well 4 Penguins would be around $100.

For the same price you could get the 375GPH Sunsun off ebay which from most people is an awesome canister and has a built in UV as well.

Of if he already has one or 2 penguins then he could invest a few more bucks and run both them and get the canister to have awesome turnover...

If your looking for some pretty crispy water, you might consider a HOT 250.
Will sit right next to a 350 with a bit of room to spare.
Dosen`t cost a fortune, it`s quiet, and is pretty easy to service.
I am getting over a week before swapping out the micron cartridge and the water clarity is awsome.

Not sure where you got your one to one ratio to begin with. I was the one who commented on the cannister and I started it by asking if he already had the 4 HOBs or not.

If he did not then $100 buys him a canister that woudl be MUCH better at filtration then 4 HOBs.

In your opinion...
4 of the Penguins would put out 1400gph, more or less, if 4 would fit on the tank..which they will not.
Not sure what the sq. inches of available bio media would be for the 8 bio wheels..
But none of that matters since the OP can only run 2.
Not looking for an arguement on this.
Would be a silly thing to argue about.

The 4 HOBs he woudl have to settle with to fit on the tank would be around that of a cannister. And a canister has a lot more room for various filtration then a HOB.

Yes a silly arguement but I was more or less confused how you were reading my comments of a one to one relationship...

Do you already have 4 of them? If not why not sink the money into a cannister filter for more turnover and space savings?

If you do already have 4 of them then I guess that answers my question. LOL

More turnover? He'd need alot more then a POS sun sun to get more turnover then 4 penguins. Not to mention the actual output of your suggestion is only going to be about half it's rated gph.

actually the penguins cost 14 dollars on big als and my dad is fobic of sumps and canisters not sure why but he associates them with noise basements humidity etc. so HOB are what I got to work with. but but if I can get my hands on a canister filter that can give me 1,400 GPH for a measly 56 dollars then by all means tell me

i did not think that 4 would fit thats what i asked but I was looking at sumps and canisters and what not and they cost alot more which is more than I have and they wouldent turn over the tank nearly as many times keep in mind only penguins would turn it over 8.66666 times the hour but i you could tell me the brand name of one of these magical 100 dollar canisters I would love to go looking for one.
