I can garantee you rosie reds are as bad as gold fish is as tyaminase goes...of course they at least dont have copper on them but that is another story. Use mosquito fish wich you can easily breed, guppies likewise. You can also use frogs, slugs, deshelled snails, worms and "snake sandwiches" wich you can easily produce yourself. Very young tilapia, convicts and even cat fish fillet can be as well used.

Unfortunetaly, he refuses all but live or fresh killed fish. He won't eat worms, whole or chopped, or any kind of fillet, or even fresh Silversides.

have you tried holding the silversides with tongs and teasing him into thinking they are alive

also if you can try going out and netting baby sunfish from local ponds

There ya go. Also Im shure if you look long enough even localy you will find mosquito fish, they have been introduced globally to figth mosquitos. And guppys every pet shop has them.
