Yes it is egg crate and 1/4" acrylic. I sanded all the edges smooth and put it together with small zip ties. Since my tank is acrylic I drilled 4 small holes in the bracing to hang it on each corner. They seem to be happy in it.

I will probably keep them in there until I build my pond. My largest ray is 9 inches and my tank is 27 inches wide so I have some time. I kept them in my QT tank because my female flower of 8 inches loves to bite during feeding time. I was concerned she would take a chunk out of them because she loves to bite my other two motoros but leaves my mantilla and castexi alone.
