Hey everyone, in my 75g, I will have an EBJD and a severum that I've already bought. The plan was to buy 3 senegal bichirs. But lately, I've been on an Oscar craze! These fish are all I can think about! Now, I know all of these fish are pretty big, but do you think I could fit an oscar? I'm fine with doing lots of water changes. I have an ac110 on the tank, I'd be willing to add another filter in the long run. Could it work?

I personally wouldnt get an oscar unless you want to take everything else out of the tank and you might be pushing it trying to get by with 1 AC110 with the stock you have now when they are full grown.

On top of that, a 75 really is barely enough for an oscar full grown by himself.

Oscars are not all that they are hyped up to be, pretty boring fish that just begs for food in my opinion.

yeah if you get rid of the other 2 then you could do the O with 2 sens and get another ac110 or a good canister like an Xp3 and that by itself with added bio media would handle it, def couldnt add an O to the current stock though, lone O could be comfy in a 75 by itself though...

I could get rid of the severum, I'm keeping the EBJD though. So you think that one oscar, one JD wouldn't work?

i mean i guess its doable if your really adamant about it and "MAKE SURE TO KEEP UP WATER CHANGES" but then i wouldn't put anything else at all in the tank no sens or dithers or anything, and even if your ebjd doesnt have parasites he is still going to grow slower than the O so you might want to have a smaller tank or something to grow out the ebjd in or wait till he gets bigger and then add the O, Os are great fish and you wont regret getting one but they do take up ALOT of tank space

I think that would work for a short while, just be sure to do what sarah said or at the very least, get another AC110 as soon as you can. The oscar will grow about an inch a month in my experience, so if you can get him really small, you could give the EBJD a chance to grow and not be stressed by the O but eventually, I think youd have to get another tank or get rid of one of them.

hmm... I wasn't planning on upgrading. I treat my fish like my dog, I would never get lazy and not feed/do water changes. And I have the Ebjd in a 20g long right now, growing out, it's maybe 4 inches. I was gonna wait until it grew a few inches to introduce it to the oscar.

So it really couldn't work? :(

yeah, i have two oscars now at around 9-10 inches, one in a 75 and another in a 60, and they both look cramped, im planning to put them in my 240 that i will be getting in a couple months
