I have to disagree with everyone here. To me, yalls comments really shows how the media has control of your brian.

Sit back and think of your day today and how many people you passed walking down the hall, driving down the street, or sat next to in the coffee shop. Did some one hold an elevator for you today? What about picked up something you dropped or let you merge into traffic?

Yeah there can be some real A-holes but the VAST majority of people are good. Im 22, and have probably been in contact with thousands or maybe even millions of people if you count just casually passing them by, yet I have never been robbed (well my car got broken into), killed, or raped...against my will at least.

I guess to sum it up, people are good, but we are fed daily that people are bad by the media and most of us believe that.

Print this out and put it somewhere safe. Read it again when youre 40 and have a laugh. The world is a cold brutal place. We live in a country where shooting at people either via video game, paint ball or airsoft, is entertainment. We entertain ourselves by imitating what is really going on throughout the rest of the world. How many people have looked you over to see if you were worth robbing? how many times has someone tried your car door or you house door to see if it was unlocked? Youll never know but Im sure its happened. But now im ranting so Ill stop.
The universe is chaos and people are inherently wicked.

Sorry JD but I'm 25, and I guess a lot can happen in 3 years. The world is NOT a nice place. granted, there are a lot of genuinely good people out there, but they are quickly outweighed by the bad. soon you will realize, like Semper said, that the world is a brutal place where its survival of the fittest.

I felt like you did now, but that was when I was young, in highschool. The older you get and the more you interact with people, you will see what we are talking about

Wow... I have to disagree. I'm no kid, but I still haven't come to the conclusion that the MAJORITY of people are bad. I have known a lot of people and seen a lot of places all over the world. My bad experiences have been outweighed tenfold by the good ones.

I wanted to change the world for a long time until i realized Im just noticing the bad over the good.Its easier to vent than to wonder what brought that person to how they are.The same person i want to kill for tailgating me turns up later to stop somebody from robbing my house.If you meen bad as in killers and such then they are even more outnumbered.The problem isnt that ppl are out to hurt others,well some are,but its that they go after what they want weather your in the way or not and they will not consider you before themselves.I work with the public and mostly at schools.Not a lot of team players.They dont try to hurt others,but until they are done with their list,you better get your own crap done.Me,I make an effort to surround myself with ppl who are understanding and dont put themselves first all the time.So liam,if you meen bad by thinking their job is so much more important than yours,or gossip,or selfish,or tailgating,then yes the bad are everyplace.If you mean true jerks like thieves,killers,taggers,vandalists and rapist,gang bangers and such,then no.At least in the towns i visit and live in the good by far out weigh the bad.Move over here,I will send my surfboard and you can paddle up but make sure to toss on some womas pythons and blue tounges.

Well Dan, i wish i was exaggerating, but the truth is this is how i feel. i guess it mostly depends on where you live, where you grew up and the type of people that were/are around you all the time. im sure populations differ vastly from one town to another.

So with that, I may be exaggerating when speaking generally, but when speaking relative to my experience, i'd say its pretty accurate. and yeah its sad, but what can you do?

my experiences with society and people in general have led me to not trust anyone - paricularly as it relates to racism and discrimination as i'm a minority. with as much discrimination ive dealt with growing up, i often find myself putting up a barrier and behaving cautiously and never trusting the majority. its sad yes, but my behavior and attitude is the byproduct of this cruel world we live in today...

so what state are you in.The only rel racism here is to ppl not caring to learn english.Unless you lived in the hood here the good are still coming together in masses to fight off the bad.Im 33,have somewhat the same trust issues.But as far as ppl going out to hurt others,they still gotta do it at night because someone will kick the crap out of them if seen.Join up with some local radio groups and participate in town meatings and such.Social clubs,athletic clubs,church,,idk anything where positive ppl hang out.If your in the bar scene like I lived for through all my 20s between vegas and sunset blvd in LA then you are in for a long time of crap freinds and ppl.If your in the hood then as soon as you do good they will bring you back down.Until you decide that some older nerdy ppl may know something you dont and you dare to learn a thing or 2 by hanging someplace out of your box,nothing will change.

i still go to bars now and then,i just dont feel like i want to know all the bouncers and bartenders.Dont care whos who and i have my fun with my girl then go home usualy wishing we whent to bed early and got up to go surfing or hiking with freinds but now i feel like crap.
