Are burros -mules and donkeys same thing?

Burro is the Spanish word for donkey. A mule is a sterile (usually) donkey/horse hybrid

they ARE killing them humanely, there are all kinds of government protocols they have to follow when working with live animals, and euthanesia rules are particularly strict. and whats so bad about selling horse meat if its from "un-usable" animals? we sell cow meat, and sheep meat and goat meat? what do you think is in store brand dog food?

and again, WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT RIDING HORSES. the stallion you mentioned has no relevance to this FERAL HORSE discussion

read the chapter about meat, think its about 6 or 7, from the book skinny B**ch. once you have read that come back to me and tell me that all these protocols are followed. maybe living next to a slaughterhouse made me quite naive to the how the rest of world kill their animals. i always thought that people had to follow the protocols and they were checked regularly. but read that....its a lovely eye opener

I love horses .... more then any other pet besides mans best friend the dog... but i also love all animals.. wild or domestic. and farm animals.. they all deserve respect ..l

I agree they all deserve respect but what is it about horses you like?

A dog I can see as your dog loves you and will die protecting you but a horse to me is like a glorified cow.

Cant fathom a horse caring about his/her owner.

I have never owned a horse but can't fathom them being better than a cat. In fact parrots I place way higher than horses.

LoL, luckily you dont see this outcry about wild hogs. Same thing, but I guess horses are just cuter so they get the love. Hogs are more fun to hunt then horses though, horses are pretty easy to hunt!

Place I go fishing for cichlid diversity which is like an hour away .They hunt hogs with dogs. Imagine the dogs drive the truck, jeep as the hunter shoots lol kidding.

all kidding aside they use non hound type dogs to help hunt them. I have never seen the hunt as fish the border canals but see them park with impressive looking dogs .

ok, im going to say this again: in AMERICA the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has protocols they have to follow. we are in 2009, not 1965, we have people (the FDA) who come out and INSPECT slaughterhouses, to make sure they are killing animals in a humane way, especially now because of mad cow. and again im going to say that the BLM does not condone the brutal killing of animals, and kills only with approved methods.

i dont know about slaughterhouses in europe, i dont live there, maybe they have all kinds of weird-tooth missing hillbillies in their slaughter houses killing animals with pocket knives or whatever, but in AMERICA it doesnt work like that.

maybe you should read Uptin Sinclair's book "The Jungle" if you want to be really grosed out, but that book was written in 1906, and American slaughterhouses arent like that now.

When i am riding my Chugger and i see a rocky area coming up.. i say to her..go slow with me here... nice... and she starts to tip toe through.. when my ride is done.. i get down from the saddle and i put my arms around her neck and hold her tight..smelling in her beautiful fur... and she nuzzles me with her nose.. i have total respect for a huge animal who listens to all my commands and gave me a ride through woods and pasture like we were free... like we were one... glorias feeling when you have that confidence together... here are some pics of those wild horses... magnificient animals..
