Hiya killer penguin, welcome to MFK, your bass isn't done growing, it has just slowed down, 5lbs @ 22" is fairly common and lunkers get much biggers.

perch are really easy to keep. this summer i had a 20 gallon tank w/ 4 largemouth bass, 5 sunfish, and 3 perch, all 1" or smaller. the perch were really timid and would usually hide unless it was feeding time

They prefer living in groups.

Yellow perch can be a blast to have in tank. I have 3 small perch (4 - 8") in a 75. They hang out with a brown bullhead (13"), a bowfin (13") and a pile of small bluegills and pumpkinseed sunfish.

Over the years I have had some decent perch. My largest yellow perch measured 13.5" and would eat medium-sized shiners out of my hand. Good stuff.
