Perch ate bichir-try to remove or hope for the best? (pic included)

The perch looks fine, the bichir..........not so much.

Yeah the bichir flopped around for a bit and died

It sounds messed up but I was a lot more concerned about the perch. Walmart doesn't carry them, and I've only seen them in a LFS 1 time.

I know that both fish's lives really mean the same, but I have a soft spot for the perch. And apparently he has a taste for bichirs.

Sorry for the loss of that bichir. What does the perch normally eat?

C'mon Rally, you've had Chinese perch before. Those fish will repeatidly size up every fish in the tank and if they think they can fit it in there mouths they will. I had one eat an odoe pike before and the pike was longer than the perch and you could see the entire pikes body outline in the chinese perches stomach- the pike stretched out his stomach almost past his own tail. Good rule of thumb- do not keep smaller fish with C-perch and especially slender bodied ones-pikes, ATF, etc.
