Perch...which one is better?

if you were to choose from a nile perch or a chinese perch.. which one would you choose and which is more expesive and beautiful???

I would choose the chinese pearch. I like the looks of them better, their price, and their final size.

I like the juvinile pattern of the nile, but I don't like the fact that they get so damn big.

Not to sure, but I know they don't get 5' or more lik the nile. PM Rallysman, he has a chinese perch and he may know the full size.

I'd pick Chinese Perch over the Nile as well...Siniperca Chuatsi tops out at about 28".

Have you ever seen one that big? I read 24" max and I've never seen one that big either.


I agree with the above, I'd go with a chinese perch (ok, maybe I'm baised)

In an angling magazine they had one held up to a yard stick....wish I still had it so I could scan the pic. Still....24" is a realistic expectation for an aquarium....I mean, how many of us has seen a 33" Shortnose Gar?
