Permanent fish structure

I don't think there is ANY question that a GIANT in-house fish tank would lower your resale, or at least make it more difficult to sell your house. If you were lucky enough to find a Monster Fish Psycho like us to buy your house it would help. But MOST people don't like fish THAT much, and keep in mind the MAINTENANCE costs involved in a tank like that. But hey...all it takes is a sledge hammer to remove it when you move...as heartbreaking as that would be :-)

Hey...if you paid 200K or more for your house, you can do anything you want to it, within legal means of course.

Besides most of the one's I've seen posted here are in the basement....so that in itself is a plus to most people as a recreational area. Beats the hell out of watching TV all day or playing video games. :D

As wizz said..nothing a sledgehammer can't fix.

Only draw back in having a huge tank set up is if its in a garage, where it will take up space and not be able to park a car or two in it.

I started selling houses in 98' and I can tell you that the homes with massive fish tanks always attracted alot of attention. I am not sure if it affected the price in any way but the question about leaving the tank was always asked even by people who never owned fish. The look is quite appealing.

Look...I love fish, but I would NOT buy a house with a built in fish tank. Let's be honest here, this site is filled with biased people who already have the "fish-itch". What Nova 8 said about a pool being the same situation? Ah no..... like 99.999999% of the HUMAN population have children and/or enjoy relaxing where maybe 2-5% of people actually own fish and maybe 25% of that are gungo ho enough to have or want a built in tank. IMO of course.

I have to disagree alot of people with kids shy away from pools as they feel its dangerous. I personally could do without the pool since all it takes is 20 seconds unsupervised to have a problem. Last time I checked fish keeping is actually the most popular hobby in the world.

As for wizzin when he's ready I'm gonna make the first offer unless johnptc sells first:D

In about 2 years, my house will be advertised here. I plan to tell people that want to keep the tank, it's an extra 5000. If they want me to remove it, it's an extra 5000.:)
