All of my cichlids are differant and all have personalitys. My severums and EBJD are lots of fun. My Buffalo head cichlid is really cool little guy. But my severums swim up and always watch me. I will have my back turned watching my other tank and turn around and my severums and ebjd are watching me begging for food.

Even my emperor tetras are have personalitys. they swim around my hand and nip at me. They also are lots of fun to watch.

All of my fish come and greet me when i stand in front of their tanks, its the one guy that doesnt who i find has the most personality.

My dat hides in his little cave terrified of all the clown loaches swimming in front trying to get my attention, he just looks at me with those big eyes like hes trying to say 'please make them go away'.

Then once all the other fish have settled for the night he'll come just out the front of his cave wanting food, still looking around to make sure all the clowns are gone. I grab his bag of massivore, take one pellet out, he follows my hand to the top of the tank, i drop it in, he quickly grabs it then swims back into his cave to eat it. Then the process starts all over again until hes full or the other fish get a whiff of the massivore and it becomes too crowded for him.

my fire eels.. the "brat" pack.. personality, and you watch them and can see the wheels turning in their brains sometimes. They always seem to be trying new ways to con earthworms from me. And even when they're full, they are trying to interact with me as long as i'm infront of the tank. My bichir also all have their own individual personalities, and are always curious as to whats going on around the room.

my jag and red devil have the most personality, always trying to figure out what is going on outside their tank

My Jag does the same thing!

I have him in a tank by himself right now, so I can guess it gets lonely, but every time I come down stairs he's looking out his tank at the doorway trying to get a peak at me... he's like a puppy dog.. as soon as he sees you his tail starts wagging.

I had thought about getting rid of him, but he's just so darn adorable! His name is Harry.

I would say pea puffers!! Mine greets me when I walk into my room and he follows my finger and gives me "kisses" when i kiss the glass (i know he's probly trying to attack me but whatever it looks cute) and surprisingly my red bellies have alot of personality not at much as an oscar or puffer but they greet me when i say hello to them and they do their little "mommy has food!" dance when they see me with a nice chunk of catfish!

I've owned a puffer in the past and they have tons of personality.

Right now I would say my blood parrots and my severums.

My largest severum wants to be THE ONE with all the attention. Even when we got him small he had to be the closest to the glass and he comes right up whenever I walk into the room.

My largest blood parrot is king of the tank. He even swims himself through caves sideways, cause he's too big now, just to show off when you come into the room and he wants food. He does it over and over like 'Look what I can do! You love me! Give me some fooods!'

Mine was an 8 inch port cichlid. This was the most outgoing fish I have ever owned. Had him for 6 years before he died. His personality more than made up for his drab brown color.

I'm not sure I would call reacting to the fish keeper as a sign of personality. I think almost all fish react to the "potential" of receiving food from the sight of a familiar human form that has, on previous occasions, provided food.

Heck my ~200 bluegills in a creek in my back yard follow me when I walk along the creek bank and go nuts when I stand on top of the bridge because that is where I usually feed them from. They do not react with the same level of intensity when my kids walk by (most likely because they do not feed them).

Personality, in my opinion, is interacting with me, not for food, but out of curiosity or enjoyment. I have lots of big fish, but only one (Titanium Flowerhorn) seems to enjoy it when I put my arm in the tank. He swims around and rubs against my arm and watches EVERYTHING I do intently.

All the other fish, who go nuts when I walk by and practically jump out of the tank when I feed them, will hide, or go to the far end of the tank, when they realize I am not feeding them and put my arm in the tank for maintenance.
