I will go for personality any day... actually, as long as it is outgoing and interactive, the more ugly it is sort of makes it look more "cool" :D

Burt :)

I would have to say the personality, I have kept some ugly fish before (<<<<<< have you ever seen a sea robin) but I love them for their personalities. I do not care what they look like, as long as they are having a good time in my tanks is what matters, and I can tell that through their personalities.

i love my gulper and hes got both

I'd have to say both, too. (couldn't decide on the vote)

I'll be in love with a beautiful fish when he first comes in, but he will really start to annoy me if he turns out a nipper or aggressor.
Same here maybe there should have been another choice like Personality and Look's.

What do any of you consider personality?
I think my severum has personality he seems to recognize me and eats out of and as does my female belonesox -

i have caught hundreds of sea robins real wierd looking fish - why do they have a good personality - what do they do - everyone on the fishing boats hated them - i loved them they would honk - it was real funny

i thought i was the only person who owned a sea robin lol, there great mine is always swimming around by the front of the glass, and when it comes to feeding time he gets pretty aggresive, by the way i go with personality and looks thats why i love all types of bass

Personality first, as with some fish it's the uglyness that actually attracts me to them. What I try to do is mix in a tank, have a real personable fish (and although thier common, oscars are still one of my favorites) and then others that are just there to look good, it's win-win then. IMO some FHs and RDs are a pretty good mix of both though.
