This tread is about almost 2 years old and you said that those SAL are at 5" and now they are only at 8".... Are they the same lungfish as you seen before? That's the slowest growth rate that I've heard especially from a juvenile SAL. I got my my new 3x SAL at 4" and now they are at 7" in just a month.
you heard right, lol. It's the same single specimin they've had since my original post. I haven't gotten a really good look at it, so I might have underestimated, but it isn't over 10, I don't think. They have a knack for not feeding a whole lot and not growing fish up very fast in the store.

If you can afford to buy them go get them. Save them from that store. Those SAL should be at 20"+ by now.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm going to grab it...hopefully by next weekend. I just hope it doesn't get too big for my bichirs too fast. The largest one I have is about a 16 inch congicus.

Doesn't really matter if it out grows you bichirs it won't bother them, I have a 41" and a 52" with my bichirs that are 9-22 inches.

I saw your thread...pretty cool. Is it the size of their mouth?

They have big mouths but they are lazy and slow. When they grow big they are more of a scavenger than a predator. So no worries of eating other fish as you can even put a 4" bichir with a fully grown SAL and it won't get eaten.

Cool, thanks.

Well, I picked it up today. It's actually close to a foot and has some green spots. I'm really excited. After I get a fire eel and some more bichirs, I'm going to move everything into the 210 long. I hope Toyin gets some decent size afrowanas in soon.

nice,Toyin would prob get in 2"-3" thats it,and post pictures!

yeah, that's all that's listed but out of stock. I'm not sure where I'm going to find one at least 10 inches.
