Heck, yeah, they do! I once had a female betta in a 40g all by herself. She went anywhere she wanted and didn't have to confront anything. Seeing her was sooo relaxing. She was living the dream, you know? It's a good thing.

I got 4 baby oscars by now in 240L, and as time pass im thinking to get a bigger tank, like >700L.
Also I read that u can keep a pack of 6-7 oscars togetther if there is plenty of room. The biotope ideea sounds great for my new tank, especially after i saw some black water, Rio Negro biotope tanks on youtube. The questions is how Orinoco delta looks underwater?

There are clearwater and blackwater areas and they change with the seasons. The majority of species tolerate both well, but certain types prefer clearwater most of the time, so it's good to get your nose in the books if you're going heavy on the tannins.
