Must be kept solo. Very aggressive with a bite force of around 70 psi.One of the largest piranha species.The largest wild caught examples reported by fishermen average 50.0 cm. Diet wise I feed whole fish, shrimp. Not too many big ones being imported due to them arriving dead. Mostly see juveniles that never grow to these sizes in captivity.

Thanks for the insight! I’ve never kept piranha species before! Being from Peru, are they a more temperate water species?
