E. Class III Wildlife
A permit is required for personal possession, exhibition or sale of Class III wildlife. Class III wildlife are all species not listed as Class I or Class II; and not among those species that are specifically listed as not requiring a permit for personal possession.
There is no formal list of Class III species. You must check the lists of Class I, Class II, and species not requiring a permit to determine if an animal in question is a Class III species. Florida residents 16 years of age and older may apply for permit to possess Class III wildlife.
Also, a special permit is needed to import leopard tortoises (Geochelone pardalis), African spurred tortoises (G. sulcata) or Bell's hingeback tortoises (Kinixys belliana) from another state.

Camshaft...PLease don't lay off......I think this is great entertainment,,,,,Killdog, kindly say something else insane....You should put the gator in your 55g.......How old are you bro? Just curious

If you can not care for a reptile, or any animal properly DO NOT BUY IT. Dont rely on dumping it off on someone else when it gets big enough. There are way too many unwanted reptiles on the adoption market as it is.

kill, im gonna try and be nice.
but people like u(ill dump it off on this person later) is the reason we have so many issues in the pet trade. if u cant care for it, do not get it. do it right if u choose to get it

HAHA Gladiator is awesome. Oh and btw man, you're probably around the same age as me huh? If you or your uncle can't house a gator, just don't buy it.

I could get my uncle to build a enclosure for it. So I could probably keep it for life that is until I have to move to Tennessee that's a whole different story.

Maybe it is about time to close this thread down.

If the kid needs his uncle to get the license for him he is younger then 16 years old. I do not know about all of you, but my parents would have allowed me to have an alligator at this age. I do not think my wife would let me have one now.

If you are really serious about keeping reptiles you should start with something a lot easier and smaller. Maybe a gecko or ball python.
