Pet fish vs. Pet dogs

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Now, to me, a horse is a soulless killing machine. They have those dead eyes like a whale, or Jeffrey Dahmer. Too big of an animal for my liking.
Haha I don't think they have dead eyes but horses do freak me out a bit. They'll mess you up.

For me the biggest advantage of fish keeping over caring for a dog, is with fishes you do what you have to do on your own time. I work a lot and with the family there is always lots going on. Our dog needs to pee, needs to eat, needs to walk, etc so or schedule always has to take that into account.

The fish tank ? No worries, we went out of town one week without even bothering with an auto feeder... Came back everything was fine.
The dog? I had to beg coworkers to give him a roof for that week...

I think think point is really subjective to an individual.

For myself, when I go out of town I just have the in-laws watch the dog which they dont ever mind doing. EZ PZ.

Meanwhile, I am always anxious about whats happening in my tank while I'm away. With the reliance on equipement, electricity, ect., I find it much more stressful.

This is easy for me. Fish are my fave, they keep the mess in the tank not all over my house. I've got two kids, along with 2 cats and dogs that shed. I'm glad they have good bathroom habits at least. When I go away it's hard for someone to manage my crazy dogs. Cats are easy, and with fish I just set out every daily meal amount in jars.

My fish have me drawing up plans on how to drag a 300 gallon plus fish on to a cruise ship stopping off in Florida and taking the tank form Florida on the ship.

I feel sorry for my fish having to live in a four foot by 18 inch by foot deep world their whole lives. So so I plan on making my house fish accessible by having multiple tanks linked up by water troughs and clear PVC pipes.
