can't mix herps unless they're the same species. no if, ands, or booty, I mean buts!
Your wrong. Reptiles should not be housed together unless for breeding purposes and that is only for a couples of weeks out of the year.

You can definitely mix herps of different species...lol! Just depends on what you want to mix, and if the tank is big enough....you guys act like herps never interact with other herps in the wild...

x2. REPTILES magazine had a series of articles a while back on how to properly keep reptiles in a community setting.

You still can't mix the previously mentioned python with anything, though, because of it's size.

Burms can be mixed with other burms or retics, other big pythons in general. However they have a hyperactive feeding response, so imagine having to feed two at the same time.. Anyone who has actually kept a burm, retic, or the like knows just how bad it would be. Plus, they've mistaken each other for food in the past, and snapped each other's necks.. Males will fight during the breeding season.. Male and female could breed unintentionally.. If one is sick, the other gets sick too.. The list of reasons not to keep them together goes on and on.

There are a LOT of zoos that keep big Pythons together in the long-term, even as huge adult Snakes. Seems that anyone with a decent head on their shoulders around Snakes should be able to pull it off, but only in HUGE enclosures, which it doesn't seem the OP has.
