pet or hobby?

I was asked this by one of my friends today. i said that its kind of both but i was wondering what people here think?

I'd have to say hobby. I think that's why I have never even thought of naming a fish. I like it though.

For me it's both. My dog is a pet and not so much a hobby.

pet for me. at one time i would have said hobby though but fish with big personality like midas and GT's make it a whole new ball game. at least for me.

A bit of both. Fishkeeping is a hobby. Fish are pets. If you can pet them, they're pets.
