pet or hobby?

I lean to more hobby than pet....but I do care about these guys.

Same here, I have a rabbit indoors which I let out every night if possible and her name is fluffernutter(awesome name I know, lol).The fish just aren't that interactive, their fun to watch and feed....but don't have that special understanding I guess.

Most here, 85% here consider it a hobby, look at the buy sell threads, who sells there pet after 2 months?

fish keeping is both a pet and hobby thing. i just don't think fish are as attachable to humnas as dogs and cats are. most cold-blooded creatures are like that. mammals tend to be treated more like pets because they respond to our affections.

Id say more of a hobby. Like a few other people said, I consider my dog a pet. My dog doesnt take up as much time to care for as my fish, and doesnt cost a fraction to take care of as it does for my fish. A lot more effort goes into fish.

I'm the opposite here, makes no sense really. I used to spend money left and right on the fish don't have the money now but the rabbit might get some carrots for 89 cents if it's lucky. The rabbit if the pet to me, but I wouldn't spend alot of money on it but the fish easily. Weird.

let me put it this way: it's a hobby and pet thing, but i'm not in the center on this. i'm leaning towards the hobby-only vote, but we do have a slight attachment to our fish. i don't cry when a fish dies. i would be broken up if something were to happen to my dogs or cats. i would not mourn a dead fish.

Hobby, I'm not going to feel heartbroken over a lost fish (unless it was pricey) but I sure would if my pet cat died.

I voted both. It started out as a hobby, but after over 2 years with one fish, you get kind of attached. He is my pet, and fish keeping is my hobby.
