Pet Shop And Black Piranhas

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I work at reefs Edge In romeoville,

And i know theya re legal

it is possible that your boss just doesn't want to have them for a display. sometimes you need to have public friendly fish, espcially when it comes to feeding time.

here in MD theyres always pihranas in the specialty stores like aquarium center and wet pet and reptile but i never see them in places like petsmart and petco and another thing is it pets mart or pet smart?

I work right by your shop.... Been meaning to stop in and take a look around for OddBalls...... Might I ask if you have any unique monsters? Or any Rays?

Thanks,
Chris

im also in the chicago area and this place near me called aquarium adventures carries RBP, never seen rhoms there but i know they have RBP they have a display tank with about 10 and then some babies for sale. at a ridiculous price i might add....$60 for a 2"

even if your boss would let you get em i wouldnt put more than one black in a tank, or you could put 4-5 together and end up with one:screwy:

I thought more people would have pointed this out. Do a search for pics or video of them being kept together and you will come back with very few results for good reason.

I grew up in the Chicago area and as I recall 15+ years ago black rhom piranhas became illegal in Illinois. I'm from the Aurora Naperville area. RBP are legal and some of the other smaller Paranhas but the blacks became Illegal around the same time Snakeheads became Illegal which was late 1980 early 1990's
