Pet-sitting company sues couple for $1 million over bad review for betta care

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
What really irks me about the article, is not the frivolous law suit, but this gem of a statement from the reporter:
" Please remember that — regardless of how you feel about first amendment rights — this is a Betta fish we're talking about. Bettas currently retail for $4.59 on PetSmart, and they die all the time"
It should have been: they die all the time due to poor husbandry by their ignorant keepers

.....and since the pet industry tags you at an inexpensive price, your life therefore holds lesser significance.

part of me thinks the lawsuit is daft, the other half suspects the owners are stupid; especially if they signed an agreement not to leave negative reviews lol; if you violate a signed document, prepare to face the consequences

Die all the time? My Brucey is 4+ years old and still kicking! Die all the time... Pfft.. What nonsense... That's like some idiot the other day trying to tell me that cats only live for 6-7 years. On what planet??? I'm going to stop now or I'll be here all day...

My cat lived for 16 years

My cat lived for 16 years
My cats are 5, 6 and almost 7 and I still see them as young cats. My hubby's grandparents had a cat who just passed recently at the ripe old age of 21, and his mums oldest cat is 13. I wanted say some very not polite things to "random bus stop guy" about looking after his animals if his cats seemingly "die of old age" at 6 years old... Anyways, let's not go down that road, as I like mfk and don't want to get banned. :D

My take away from this story is this.. You mean I could be CHARGING people to babysit Bettas?!?!?!!? I have been in this hobby for over 30 years and this obvious gold mine has never crossed my mind!
