Exactly.. because they were/are the rage, people think they're lucky, etc.. the prices drove up.. and never really came down. And nowadays, it's mostly because of breeders.. why bring the price down for quality pieces when they can make so much more on an easily bred fish? Line breeding for highly desired traits, etc., etc. And one thing, most quality breeders are all in Asia. Really, if you're not willing to pay more than $10 for a fish.. than, best of luck growing them out.. some are looking for quality juveniles, etc. so they can start breeding projects, have a show piece, etc. Yeah, like I said, you'll get occasional pieces that turn out nice, but really about 15% of a breeding turn out to be quality.. but if breedings in the US were to be quality x quality fish.. the outcomes turn out better.. because the lower grade are turning into better lower end fish of the breedings..
