Peta has it's place. Animals don't have a voice, so others fill the void to speak for them. They are a mix of ideals just like everything else.

We have a great many organizations dedicated to animal welfare in the US. PETA is not one of them. I've worked in animal rescue for over 30 years and the article/website is correct. The reason the aspca and others don't do anything about it is that we kill over 6 million companion animals a year. No kill shelters are an illusion...most of them regularly transfur unadoptable animals to county facilities where they are then put down.

PETA takes money that could be much better spent supporting adoption and education efforts and uses it to promote anything that will gain them headlines. PETA by the way is rather high on the FBI watch list for potentially dangerious organizations.

Make NO mistake here...The road to hell is paved with good intentions...This group does far more harm to animal rights than good.
