Peta says: Fish Keeping = BAD!

The aquarium keeping hobby is just an easy target.

1% of all wild fish 'deaths' come from the hobby.. the other 99% is from food fish, habitat destruction, human pollution, etc.. but that would be harder to trick the general public into understanding. Fishkeeping is an easy concept to point the finger at.
 
i just really got a big laugh from when they claimed that fish bowls gave a distorted view. soon theyll offer a fish square thats the size of a fish bowl lol.
 
did anyone else sign that petition? when i did it said that like 151 thousand other ppl did as well. its great.
 
OK, my four cents...

I can understand some of what they support. i.e. - protesting industries that profit for capturing to kill for reasons other than food, like clothes. That being said, back off the people that accuire species with the intent to keep them alive/cultivate the species! Isn't that your cause????? :screwy: You cannot condem the people that devote more effort (and metal heath) than you to keep their pets alive and well. If these hobbiest were state/federaly funded, they would be called hero's!

I have 4 tanks, 1 pit bull, 2 Wiener dogs and a great Irish family. The only thing I have to split up is my 5 year old & 10 year old sons!
 
good point jk47. did you sign the petition? if not i can get you a link. its a petition to make it so that peta is not tax exempt, aka, dealing them a nice blow to the junk.
 
And the companionship thing at the end of the PETA thing. Say angels. If you took your nieghbors angels and your angels they would kill each other! you have to get them together.
