Petco $100 purchases & over don't do

I ordered a stand online for my 125 on the 8th and after confirmation by both email and phone call on the 9th my ordered was cancelled on 10th. I was called on 9th and after calling back to speak with represenative to verify my order which she failed to do resulted in my order cancelled. I never got an email or phone call so today I found out. I spoke to manager after manager and it seemed to everyone I spoke to they thought I was at fault but after expressing their representative messed up after the first manager told me it was a trainee I spoke to on the phone that dropped the ball. I would rather pay $500 more from someone else to ever order something from them. Plus I will never shop there again with spending probably close to $2500 in pet supplies there in the past two years. They only offered me a 10% for the messup but I declined not feeling they are confident. They placed a hold on my card which they aren't willing to assist by calling them. I am writing a nice letter with all the managers name to the CEO expressing how I will no longer buy from them but from Petsmart and local LFS. I told them to simply do rush a reorder with 10% discount but they said no they won't do which I felt was outrageous. Yes shipping cost on their part would be higher but it was their fault.

I don't see the point in a hate thread for a single mistake by a trainee... Sounds like they didn't do the %10 discount because you had already declined. Don't blame a whole company that, from what I can see usually treats you well (since you've spent more than $2500 there) and for 1 person's mistake. Please let me know if I'm just missing something...

One mistake from trainee I accepted that but when one manager to another saying my fault then after correcting them on their error then only one manager stepping up to the plate admitting mistake but really got me was when it was cancelled I never received an email nor phone call. When you talk to them they acted like they don't care and 10% actually was the same code you can put on the system found on special promotion if you search online. I don't have confidence in them so I won't shop online. Yes $2500 in the past two years is a lot but considering dog food and supplies for two 155 pound dog adds up.

You didn't lose any money. So what you had to wait a few days and got no stand. Learn to be more patient in life. It was probably partially atleast your fault you didn't get the stand. It is up to you if you no longer wanna shop there. They won't care. But I bet you will be right back there when you need something later.

Exactly. Also why not build a stand for cheaper? Spent maybe $60 on mine, would have been about $80 if I painted it
 
I understand your frustration. Its often difficult for companies to admit when they make a mistake. I dealt with a similar situation with Walmart and when the manager realized they were at fault for the situation they gave me the item for free. I didn't yell or threaten them, just said I was disappointed. Sometimes it depends on how both sides handle the situation. I think for what its worth, Petco is usually a pretty good natured company. Sounds like the managers should have handled it differently. Now its your decision... was bad service on one order enough to make you buy the rest of your pet related purchases at other stores... even if Petco is cheaper? Personally, I'm pretty quick to forgive if it means I am able to save some money... lol.

It wasn't at all my fault in anyway since I called within 30 minutes back after they called me to verify my purchase on the 9th. How is it my fault? Please explain? The lady on that call said your address and information has been confirmed and UPS ground confirmation will be emailed to you within 5 days. Money isn't an issue and Petamart carries the same dog food simple switch for me just $1200 revenue lost for them a year plus whatever purchase I would have bought from there now petsmart.
