same thing happened to me the other day i got a jd at 7in a long time ago he died recently but the other day i got a jd, 2 texas (one didn't make it) and a firemouth from the manager who im friends with. ive also gotten 2 free plecs, a free african featherfin, a beautiful female con, 2 6in silver dollars, a couple gouramis that have since died, and an angelfish which also passed. i was a nurisng home for the 1st jd (the previous owner had him for 8yrs and bred him and i had him for 2) and the texas, firemouth, and jd are all one year old im planning on getting some females and breeding so let me kno if you want any

wow they need to stop giving you fish murdered! Lol jk, but seriously, are you getting them in terrible condition or what? Those are all some pretty hardy fish they shouldn't be dying like that.

And for everybody asking what they're mixed with they are just regular convicts. The pink one is just the "pink convict" variant. Coming from petco they probably are hybridized, but no more than most of our regular everyday convicts.

its nice working getting all the first dibs on adoptable fish, we have a lady thatbrings in bags upon bags of convicts. i dunno where they all go but they go, people love free ****.

free pets are usually not a great idea when you have all these morons getting them because they're free even though they don't know how to properly care for them. I remember when I first started breeding fish I'd try to give them away but after asking the idiots inquiring about them what they are going to keep them in/with I'd honestly rather just feed them to my other fish or give them away to responsible hobbyists as feeders.

Yeah, they may both be females. I was told they were a pair. I assumed that the barred one was male because the breeding tube was smaller/pointier. Oh well, I still think it was a good grab for a dollar. And once they are in the 30, i might try to find a male of the barred one and put the larger female in my 55 and see if my JD will allow her to live.

I don't believe they are hybridized, I have seen cons with the yellow/blue on the fins. But again we can only speculate

elting, convicts are one of the easiest fish to sex. Females have orange on their bellies, males do not. Males also tend to have much longer fins as long as they're not getting munched on by other fish. Remember this when you go shopping for a male.

Won't be getting any fry from those two still a nice pick up I never get free fish
