Petco "Going Blue"

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
it does seem like a strange policy change . . . I have never bought fish from Petco, because I've never seen good fishkeeping in the ones near me.

I once saw a Petco keeping Bolivian Rams w/ Africans . . . I told the guy that he was going to lose the Rams (one was already dead) . . . he said "oh, okay", but who knows?

but as to the policy, people who want meds will just shop elsewhere; Petco won't change any minds, they will just lose that business . . .

its pretty sad that walmart will treat more fish problems than petco soon

The ONLY reason corporations like this make "changes" is beacuse in some way or another there losing money. Its called an image change. Sad thing is it usually works. Oh well im not a beliver in anitbiotics anyways, unless there are no other options. Annyways i thought I heard petco is closing like 1/3 of there stores, Sucks to be a petco stock holder right now.

Dont let them FOOL you, it has nothing to do with the fish or pets, just money.

so was there a massive clearance on meds? or did they just scrap the inventory of these items?

I dont think the problem is so much that they are discontinuing the antibiotics, but more so that the associates that you deal with directly will still know NOTHING!!! :irked: and give you some dumbass remedy ,so that you will shut the **** up and leave them alone... no offence to Petco workers..I know there are some that do care..but are very hard to come by... :(
lol you avatars eyes are SO BIG i didnt know if u were real or not lol

sick fish left untreated = dead fish = more fish sold = more $$ in petco pocket.. or at least thats the idea. worked for both petco and petsmart.. petsmart was pricer but it was also a much better company to work for, and the funds where there not just to get fish, but to care for them properly.

I'll alway support the private store first though, and I can always count on them to help me keep my livestock alive. Not just buy more. Fish are pets.. not pretty accesories in my house.

corporate makes me wanna hurl.

Don't think this was a slam petco thread. I really don't care if petco carries fish anitbiotics are not. I bet there is a financial reason behind this decision. Maybe to carry more food, which sells a lot better. Honestly petco does try to train their employess to care, but it is up to the employee to actually care. I've watched employees get let go for giving an animal up to a family that wasn't prepared. Really since I stopped working there the only shopping I do there is in their clearance, which will soon have a bunch of antibiotics in it. Stock up.

If they cared so much then they wouldn't have so many stores with filthy tanks in them.
