he said he last acrylic tank was in a heart shape, for the floor of his customer, is was a 35 gallon, and he had to service it from the bottom, and he paid like 2k for it.... i just chuckled and walked away,

BTW he was actually not illegal. he was white too...
 
I would make this guy my best friend, go in every day he's there and talk to him, and talk to him, and talk to him. Ask tons of descent questions & don't be arguementitive and on his days off go in and ask his co-workers if he always has to talk to all customers for so long asking so many dumb questions. :D
 
I work at Petco... lol but he obviously doesn't do research. I purposely found websites like these to learn and make sure i know what i can so that i don't give the wrong information. And if i don't know the answer i have been telling people about this website so they can learn for themselves. And then i read forums like these and hate to work anywhere near the store. But for sure they don't teach you much. Just the basics and even then it isn't always right. But I try.

I work at Petco, and you have to be 18 if im not mistaken.

I'm in the same boat as creations. I know alot about the fish we have but i do my best to answer the questions i do not know. A site liek this has taught me so much. My petco fish section is improving since the last manager we had a was a douche and me and another girl and turning things around.

And saying that all or most of the petco/petsmart employees are dumb isnt true. Amesbien and I both worked at one of these stores. And we educated the hell outta people.
 
You have to admit though that there are alot less people like you out there who are knowledgeable working in these stores. I'm just lucky my local petsmart is pretty well-run, although I did once see about 8 4-5" RDs crammed into one of those small holding tanks.
 
FishyCreations726 & Dreamsofpeace54, Please understand we don't mean you personally when we talk about lfs's and we applaud your efforts to try and improve a difficult situation. I would love to be able to recommend a person to a lfs for any problems they might have, the problem is your type of responsible and caring people are far and in-between. Wanna move closer to me?

Now if y'all would band together and get the lfs's to train and/or require an ability to be trained of its people this would be a great step forward for fishkind (?). Warm bodies should not a lfs make.

sirasoni... Your lucky, our petsmart's never had a fish over 2" long (probably a good thing for the fish too).

I would befriend the guy just because from what it sounds like he could get you free tanks!!!!!lol idk if he could but he could probably get you damn cheap ones if you get to be good enough friends with him.

every petsmart i go to has like 6 5" oscars in a a big long tank thats sectioned off to like 10 gallons.
