Awesom everyone thank you guys alot. Now i was wondering if you guys think they will fair well in my pond. I live in the san francisco bay area which is central california and the temp in summer will reach from 90-100 and in winter the temp drops to around the 50's. Keep in mind i am not talking water temperature. The pond is about 550 gallons and has plenty of rock work and logs and plants inside of it as well as outside of it. I also will be running a creek/waterfall system into the pond as soon as possible. And i have no fish but plan on possibly purchasing a small number of misquitoe fish and letting them reproduce so i can use some as feeders. All info is great thank you guys.

Don't introduce those non native tadpoles into your backyard! What's to keep them from escaping, once they emerge from the water? If you'd like some tadpoles or frogs for your backyard, go collect some pacific tree frogs, california toads, or Cali. red-legged frogs. The bay area has big populations of amphibians, so finding them is a snap.

I agree with David. This is one of the reasons why American Bull Frogs are now found in almost every state in the U.S. If you can find some native frogs and toads instead, that would be best thing to do. I don't know what the laws are on collecting them in CA but you should probably look up some info on that first. Good luck.

They are most likely Green frog tadpoles Rana clamitans. It is a medium sized species of frog that doesn't have the predatory nature of a Bull Frog, which will eat other frogs, fish, small turtles, etc...

You forgot snakes. Bullfrogs eat snakes, too.
