Petco to Buy Drs. Foster and Smith

I use Kensfish' when I'm ordering enough for free shipping, but when I just need 1 or 2 items of something small, I use Amazon and/or Ebay which has a lot of great prices and a lot of time free shipping. Many people have reservations about using Ebay, but I've been using the site for over a decade and have yet to have any major issues. The few time there were issues, it was quickly rectify by the vendors. FYI, a lot of vendors sells on both Amazon and Ebay

Good news on Kens free shipping and I'll have to check ebay as well.I regularly peruse there for car stuff but Ive never thought to check out the aquarium supplies listings.

Bad!! less competition less deals.... that being said. www.kensfish.com beats most of them anyway

I've ordered from kens a few times and had no problems. But just recently ordered from them and took them almost 3-4weeks to complete my order. No apologize, no nothing! Probably not going to order from them for awhile. Amazon has become my best friend

Will be interesting to see how this plays out. I've been ordering from Fosters and Smith for years and alway had good luck. If Petco is smart, they won't change much. Too much competition out there (Amazon, Ebay, Ken's, etc.) for them to raise prices. I liken this to one major airline buying out another.

That might be what Petco is ultimately up to..being the only shop in town.Next thing we know they will buy out one of those other outlets.

I quit going to petco when I was 19. Their fish in our local store are always dying, stressed and sick.
And I watched an employee try to catch a friggin zebra finch bird with leather gloves on and a fish net...
I reached in and picked it up.

I've never ordered from drs, but their prices are always too high for me too .

Interesting,I've always found Drs. Prices to be pretty good especially for fish food which is mostly what I mostly get from them...T&K,who do you normally order from?

When we started we did petco/petsmart or walmart, but that didn't last long.

Lol,I find PetSmart to be the worst in terms of prices and there aren't many Petco stores here but I don't expect them to be much better.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of either really.
We stop in if we're in the area to show the kid animals, but thats it.
