the petco down the street is sweet!
its all nice and clean. healthy animals, filters and food are always in stock. i got my tire track eel for like $6.99 or sumthing, idont remember. great deals on tanks.
and also alot of the guys from skool work there too. so when i go in i get all kinds of discounts and maybe a few extra feeders.
i actually watched a beat up, one eyed, half dorsal finned oscar grow into a 10" one eyed, half finned goldfish terrorizing beast. then my buddy took it home for his 80 gal tank.
but the petsmart that like half a block away, sucks ***. it smells, the floors are sticky, theres never any "non sick" fish that are sellable. tyhey got in a bunch of little channel catfish and put them in a seperate tank that said "fish under treatment not for sale" and every weekend id go in to see f i could buy one yet, every time there were fewer and fewer and the ones left were just skin and bones floating in the currrent.

the petco around here keeps their tank temp too low for their feeders. honestly i understand is slows the motabolizm....but when i let them sit in my tank for a good 30 min in the bag and still half of them die of shock thats too cold in my opinion.
i choose not to go but to support the little guy the lfs (local fish store) for it is they who usually care and provide service, not the chain store unless u dont have one in your area
I have been in places, like here, that barely support even a petco, Ihave also been in places, like Hayward, Ca., that supported lots of LFS and chainstores, the chain stores were for staples but the lfs sold the good stuff, not much competition between the two because they filled different niches.
i loaded a whole bunch of pics for my gallery and they never showed.

but the lizard fish thing was absolutly hillarious!, i guess you had to see it for it to be funny.

anyways....we should all sighn a patition for petco, mal*mart (i even did the star thing too!) and petsmart, hire knowledgable peeps for thier animals, and a better janitorial service.
